The Constitution- A Heavenly Banner

This is an AMAZING speech given by Ezra Taft Benson back in 1986. Please take the time to read it. It is worth it.

Prop time

It is almost that time, November 2nd is right around the corner and this 2010 election year is possible one of the most important elections that will take place. Not for our state but for our country. Lets PRAY the toss up states will vote the "right" way and we can take back the house and senate. It won't make everything perfect but if we hold those we elect responsible, we might be able to get America on the correct path again. Ok if you are sick of BIG government and a fiscal conservative like me, you can check out how I am going to vote on the props. Lets get started. =)

Prop 106 - YES- Healthcare
This is NOT healthcare reform, but laying the groundwork so we don't have to be apart of that terrible Obamacare. 1. It makes it so you don't have to buy insurance if you don't want to, unlike Obamacare you will be FORCED to buy it or will pay a fine. Very unconstitutional. 2. You will have the right to spend your own money and 3. It will not effect medicare. This is the most important prop, so spread the word!!

Prop 107- YES - Preferential treatment or discrimination prohibition
This is a no brainer......it is basical saying no special treatment for government workers or discriminating against them.

Prop 109- YES- Hunting and Fishing
This is protecting those who hunt and fish from the environmentalist. Their is nothing wrong with hunting or fishing and this let those who get their tags and do it legally, to be able to continue to. This is the preferred way to control and manage wildlife.

Prop 110- Yes- Exchanging or paying for land for development
This one is hard to explain but in a nutshell, it lets the government pay you or give you state trust land, if you own property around a military base, school, prisons etc.. to help with the development.

Prop 111- NO- Changing name titles
This one sounds great and nice but their is one part of the prop I don't like. First off it is basically wanting to change the title of Secratary of State to Lieutenant Governor, because many people don't know that is a Governor resigns or quits, then the current Secretary of State takes that spot till the term ends. Example, Janet Napeloitano left to go work at the White House to be Homeland Security, so Jan Brewer bumped up to Governor. If that was all the prop did I would vote yes but another part of the prop is the person running for Governor would have to be on the same ticket as the Lieutenant Governor. So what if you like one but not the other. You have no choice and have to vote for for both. Hope that made sense.

Prop 112- YES- Filing ballots
This is great because gives those sending in a ballot 2 extra months. Therefore gives more time to also check signatures.

Prop 113- Yes- Secret ballot
This just guarantees the right to vote by secret ballot

Prop 203- NO- Medical Marijuana
Ok, don't even get me started on this one because I'm upset people are giving up on this and saying "lets just legalize it and then tax it to death so we can make money" Really people you are willing to have dope users all over the place just to make money? Or when people say "we waste lots of money having the police try and regulate this". Well think about this....you want someone growing dope next door to you and you can't do anything about it. Yeah that is just what I want, to be in the backyard playing with my kids and having the smell of someone in their backyard smoking pot, lingering over to our house. PLEASE be smart and vote NO!!!! Also don't try and give me the comparison to alcohol, so not the same!!

Prop 301- No- Transferring 152 million dollars that was set aside for Land Conservation to the State "General" funds.
I say no because they (as in the legislature) need to have a plan for this money. I don't want 152 million dollars to just go to the "general" fund. If voted No it will force them to go back and make a better argument as to where the money will go specifically.

Prop 302- Yes- Terminate the "First things First" (Arizona early childhood development program)
This Program was voted in back in the late 90's. It is funded by a tobacco tax. This is not as great of a program it sounds. Most of the money goes to the administration and little actually goes to the children. We already have ACCESS for the kids, we don't need lots of other little programs claiming to help the children. This is worded very weird to make sure you remember to vote YES, don't be fooled.

Ok please let me know if you have further questions, call me, text me, email me, facebook me.....whatever. =)

Who am I voting for??

Ok if you are headed to the polls to vote, and you are stumped as to who to vote for here are my picks. Now I live in District 6 and Legislative District 22, so you might have different canidates depending on your district. So let start at the top and work our way down.

Senator: JD Hayworth
*JD is not my favorite but their is NO WAY McCain can be re-elected!!! He has been in for way to long and I believe to fix our state we must start with immigration, McCain has been for Amnesty http://www.alipac.us/article531.html but all the sudden (so he can get re-elected) he acts like he wants to secure the border!!! Well several years to late "my friend".

District 6 Congressman: Jeff Smith
*Jeff Flake has been in for awhile now and his time is up. He claims to have fought against spending and against amnesty but I haven't seen much proof. Sorry we need real results, and if Smith doesn't deliver than out with him at the next election.

Governor: By default, Jan Brewer
*I'm not going to lie, I wanted Dean Martin but he and Buzz pulled from the race to support Jan, because she is fighting the good fight with SB1070.

State Senator: Easy one, Andy Biggs
*I'm very impressed with him. I have gone to meetings and heard him talk and he is a TRUE conservative and is working hard to stop spending =)

State Rep for District 22: (you can choose 2) Laurin Hendix and Eddie Farnsworth

State Treasurer: Leah's vote, Barbara Leff, Tea Party's vote, Thayer Verschoor
*I heard all those who are running speak and I really really liked Barbara Leff. Thayer was good too, but this one I voted with my gut and went with Barbara

The Dreaded Attorney General: I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. Their has been a nasty fight between Andrew Thomas and Tom Horne. I have NO idea who is telling the truth and who I would like to represent our state. This is an important position so I'm upset they both seem un-fit for the job.

State Superintendent: Margaret Dugan
* I heard her and John Huppenthal speak more than once and Huppenthal rubbed me the wrong way. He has no experience in the classroom. Margaret started out as a school teacher, principal, etc...and worked her way to the top, so she understands what it is like for teachers. Huppenthal is also in favor of Obama's STUPID plan "Race to the Top"....more federal money.

Corporation Commissioner: (choose 2) Brenda Burns and Gary Pierce

County Attorney: Bill Montgomery

Ok their you go. Hope that helps and Happy Voting!!! If you need to know where to go vote here is the link to help you. But shame on you for not figuring this out already!!!

Getting ready for baby!

Well it has bee to long since I have posted on this blog. I have been doing my crafts still, just not good about posting them. So I love sewing and I LOVE QUILTS!!! Holy cow, if they weren't so darn expensive to do, I would be making them all the time. This little quilt I made was not actually quilted on a big fancy machine, but I did put together the top of the quilt. I found 5 patriotic fabric I could resist. Especially the fabric that says Republican all over it =)
I just backed it with red minky. It turned out so cute and I can't wait to lay my little patriotic man on it. Those are Amelia lovely knees we see on it.
I LOVED this fabric I saw online and had to order it. I'm glad someone came up with these new privacy covers.
Then I kept Amelia's infant car seat and of course bought her a pink one, so I took the pink cover off, took it apart so I had a pattern to make a new one with. I decided to make a brown, soft minky cover. It turned out pretty good. I hope to make another one soon. More project to come soon =)

Fabric Quiet Book

Seriously I love being a mom of small ones because stuff like this I can't get enough of. I saw this cute quiet book on a blog a month or so ago and had to make one. It is very easy just lots of sewing, so I worked on it a little each day.

Started with diging through my fabrics and ribbon to find odds and ends of all the colors. I did have to buy a few fat quarters and the ric-rack.

I used wonder-under on the back of the fabric for the letters, then I used my Sizzix to die cut the the letters.

I forgot to take a picture of the black page, but you get the idea =)

I have a crop-a-dile tool and punched a little hole in the corner, then put and eyelet in, get a book ring and now I have an adorable quiet book. Even my 4 year old son likes it because he spells out the words.

Happy crafting!!

Ruffles and Buttons

I know, I know another dress you say but sorry.......I can't stop!! This is another twist to the t-shirt dress' I've been making. Ruffles = Happiness to me and I would put them on everything if people wouldn't think I'm a nutcase.

I also just finished Millers, Easter dress which sort of looks like a prom dress form the 80's but she it is to young to care, thank goodness because she is wearing that dress. It wasn't the easiest thing I have sew, but great practice =)

Call Your Rep. to Stop Health Care

March 01, 2010 By: patriot Category: Action Items, Health care

Please call the Arizona Delegates listed on Dick Morris’s site. According to Mr. Morris:

“We don’t believe that there is any chance of stopping Obama’s renewed push for his horrible health care changes in the Senate. Harry Reid is going to use the reconciliation procedure to jam it through with 51 votes – and he will get them. All the hype about how difficult it will be is to distract us from the real battle which will come in the House. There, where every member faces re-election, it will be a lot harder for Pelosi to round up the vote she needs. Last time she passed health care by 220-215. This time, a lot of the Democrats who voted for health care are going to be so worried about re-election that they might be induced to jump ship.”

PLEASE CALL!DC OFFICELOCAL OFFICE
Harry Mitchell(202) 225-2190(480) 946-2411
Gabrielle Giffords(202) 225-2542(520) 881-3588
Ann Kirkpatrick(202) 225-2315(928) 226-6914

All the above officials are Democrats, they need to hear our voices!! Please Call!!

T-Shirt Dress tutorial

I love it when I find stuff I already have to make things with. Awhile back I bought some solid t-shirts that were on clearance in her current size. Then while going through my material I saw this left over material and knew it would be perfect for the pink tee. So here we go....

First cut off how ever much from the shirt you want. Just remember you need a 5/8 seam. Then for the material, I measured around Millies torso which was I think 14" then double that for the width of the fabric. Third....Measure your her from about where you cut the shirt off at to the knee or desired length. Fourth, sew the sides together, which will then be the back of the dress. Fifth, gather the top of the fabric.

Now Right sides together and pin all the way around. Then sew 5/8.

This is what it looks like inside out. I luckily have a surger so I cleaned up the inside. If you dont just trim nicely and you can zigzag stick around. Then iron.

and what do you know, you have an adorable little dress....add whatever you please to the top. Ruffles, flowers, buttons etc.....

I keep trying to get her to stand and say "cheese" but she kept squating down. Silly Lady.....and she had to wear her hot to trot boots of course.
Well good luck and have fun.

I was a crazy sewing machine and made this dress from a online pattern I found. I also made myself 2 skirts....will post soon =) Happy weekend.

Felt Pond Playmat

I've been wanting to make some felt playmats for awhile so one afternoon while Dollie was snoozing I went to town and made this little number up. Very simple and not fancy but really, does a 4 year old care....I think not!!!

All you need is some felt squares, plastic animals and a sewing machine.

I just created as I went. Knowing that all he really needs is places to hide his frogs and lizards.

Hours of fun.....makes for one happy mama!!!

Under-the-Sea, Dinosaur and Wild Life playmats to come......after my sisters wedding of course.

T-shirt dress

Simply done dress. Took all but 15 mins to make. White t-shirt top, and extra fabric, a little rosette and bam.....A dress fit for a Valentine Princess. Tutorial to come.

Valentines Swag

I don't know if this is really a swag but that's what I call it. So I started out with random pink scrapbooking paper I had and then cut 6" x 6" squares out of light and hot pink and white fabric.

Then I make a heart template and cut 3 hearts out of each paper.

Then with a zig-zag stitch I sewed the hearts onto a square piece.

Then with quilt binding I sewed the squares onto it and......their you have a lovely valentines swag.

I don't know how some of you plan or organize your FHE's but last year since Ryker was a new Sunbeam I tried to follow the Primary's Sharing TIme Outline. So that if we taught him about it on Monday, hopefully when he heard it again on Sunday it would sink in. So here is what someone put together for 2010. FHE 2010 Outline

Easy Peasy Puzzles

To make these easy peasy puzzles I just bought a few calendars at the $1.00 store. I bought a boy one for Ryker but I have no idea what he did with it so I'm left with the kitties and Dora.

Choose the pictures you want to use and neatly cut them out. Then can a 12x12 peice of cardstock and mount them. Trim off the paper that is not covered.

Then cut them however your little heart desires. The big Dora face one is just strips, it is for my Millie to do who is almost 2. Then the Kitty one is a little harder and the Dora on a scooter is cute all over the place. Then if you can laminate them so they last longer. Use the little pictures on the back of the calander to label the envelope you place it in and so the kids know what the puzzle should look like.

Ryker will sit and do puzzles forever but gets board with the same ones. Now I can make lots of cheap ones for him to do. Have fun !!
